  • New Tyson Fresh Meats Labor Agreement

    To  All Tyson Fresh Meats Members,

         The results of the vote over the Company's Best and Final Offer are listed below.

    VOTES IN FAVOR OF THE PROPOSED CONTRACT: 1,785

    VOTES AGAINST THE PROPOSED CONTRACT: 353

         The terms of the new Labor Agreement will go into effect Sunday, April 30, 2017. I want to thank all the members for their support during this process. As always, should you have any questions, do not hesitate to call me.

    MAJOR IMPROVEMENTS NEGOTIATED FOR AMARILLO TYSON FRESH MEATS MEMBERS

    1. Major wage increases when contract is ratified. Major wage increases during the term of the agreement for all divisions
    2. Stronger non-discrimination language
    3. Improved language when Company has to cancel work
    4. Streamlined grievance procedure
    5. Employees may bid to another division
    6. Language that spells out when the Company has to post jobs for bid
    7. Improved funeral language
    8. Improved vacation language
    9. Paid paternity leave
    10. Floating Holiday restored for all members
    11. New paid break
    12. Elimination of the Quick Start Program
    13. Wage improvement for heavily skilled jobs
    14. Major wage increases for all maintenance employees
    15. Hides Maintenance schedule change
